Feeling of Sabahan in Malaysia ?

*The feeling of a Sabahan in Malaysia.* Malaysia is presently a polarized nation. I cannot claim to be a proud Malaysian while the country is run on racial and religious divides rather than meritocracy, and worst of all, there is corruption at almost all levels of the government, reaching dimensions unparalleled in scale. There are times when I sing the Negara Ku, standing and saluting our national flag, I feel no sense of patriotism due to the hypocrisy that plagues our nation and the injustices and neglect that we have endured for the last 60years over the non-compliance of Malaysia Agreement 1963. Malaysia’s grim Islamic future

*Malaysia's Grim Islamic Future - Asia Sentinel* https://www.asiasentinel.com/p/malaysia-grim-islamic-future A modern, moderate Southeast Asian nation of 34 million people with a healthy ethnic minority of Chinese, Indian, and indigenous groupings to go with its 58 percent Malay majority, Malaysia appears to be hurtling toward a 6th Century Islamic Shariah future. It is happening not because of overwhelming popular demand but because of years of cynical political manipulation and corruption. Dennis Ignatius, a former career top Malaysian diplomat and ambassador, has written a three-part examination of how this came about. It also appears on his blog www.dennisignatius.com . While it is longer than our normal format allows, we present it here because of its importance and because of his articulate analysis of how this tragedy has transpired. The "invisible" constitution & the emerging Islamic state Parti Islam se-Malaysia (PAS) President Abdul Hadi Awang...

POLITICS Asia Sentinel Malaysia's Prime Minister in Crisis Currency falls to lowest level in history OCT 31, 2023 By: Cyril Pereira The whole country is stunned by the drop in Malaysia's currency, the ringgit, to its lowest exchange rate of RM4.79:US$1. That has triggered calls for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to give up his dual role as finance minister and urgently appoint a competent one to focus on revitalizing the economy. Opposition members are calling for Anwar's resignation. His voters have seen no substantive reform after one year in power, either. Citizens are losing patience. Disenfranchised non-Malays and moderate Malays – Anwar's core supporters – were initially relieved to have a messianic leader seemingly free of corruption, racial, or religious twists. He cobbled together a coalition majority with the United Malays National Organization, which had led the Barisan Nasional in ruling the country for 65 years, as the "Unit...
