Madani Malaysia in name only …

*"Madani Malaysia" in Name Only — Human Rights Setback Signals Pakatan Harapan Has Abandoned Reform* The latest "State of the World Human Rights" report for 2024.confirms a disturbing truth: Malaysia's human rights record is deteriorating — and the Unity Government, led by Pakatan Harapan, needs to shoulder full responsibility. Not all flag mistakes are equal

For a clue to what may happen in this latest flag fiasco, let's look at several past incidents of flag mistakes. In 2022, our national flag was raised upside down during the National Day Parade rehearsa...

The administration cited that the forum involved "3R" issues (religion, race, and royalty) which are deemed sensitive and potentially disruptive to campus harmony. Lim Jing Jet, President of UMANY and Deputy President of the UM Student Union (UMSU), strongly condemned the administration's intervention in student affairs, accusing it of attempting to suppress academic freedom and turning the university into a zone of intellectual censorship. In 2023, then-Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim publicly stated that Malaysia is neither a secular state nor an Islamic state. In light of that, UMANY's forum was intended to be a rigorous academic discussion on Malays...
