From Tan Sri Sherif Kassim

Forwarded as received by Tan Sri Sheriff Kassim :

Malays are now paying the price for their own folly and self-centred politics of race and religion. When PH came into power in May 2018, there were comments in the gossip mill that the non-Malay DAP was given too much power in the govt. Whenever I wrote anything positive and favourable about the PH reform agenda, DAP ministers or AG Tommy Thomas, I would get brickbats like...'wait, it won't be long and you'll see what happens... they'll be kicked out'. One ex-AGC man said the department officers couldn't accept TT as their chief. They said the MOF civil servants also couldn't tolerate DAP politicians reviewing everything the officers did before. Malay critics implied that I lacked the Semangat Bangsa dan Agama. They called for the return of Ketuanan Melayu. When Muhyiddin seized power and formed the PN govt, they cheered and celebrated as if there was no tomorow.
Today, as the pandemic is getting out of control, its the same Malay critics now blaming the illigitimacy and incompetency of govt ministers for the mess up.
The Malays must understand that if we want competency and credibility, we must accept and be more open towards embracing a multiracial govt. And there's no two ways.
